hello

hey hello hi! i am funkirbo! i like to write about the things i do!

and when i say “things i do”, i really mean what i play; video games fill the vast majority of my free time.

this is by no means a comprehensive list of everything i’ve ever finished; writing takes time, and i only have so much of that. my goal is to slowly chip away at writing reviews for everything, but that’s sort of like sisyphus pushing the boulder, right? it’s a goal i know i’m never going to finish, because every game i finish pushes the posts back even further.

about me

i am currently a freshman computer science major at a university i will not disclose. outside of university, i really don’t do all that much, to be honest. i play a lot of video games, listen to music, and hang out with my friends. at the end of the day, i’m a pretty boring guy.

genre-wise, i’m a big fan of mystery stuff. ace attorney is my favorite game franchise, and the two knives out movies i’ve seen have been excellent as well. i’ll enjoy pretty much anything you put in front of me, though, as long as it’s quality; i’m not all that picky. …that sounds kind of corny, but it’s true!

the reviews on this site are called “reviews” only because there’s really not a better way to describe them. i don’t focus on reaching a certain word length or anything, i just kind of talk until i’ve put down the thoughts i want to. that means that a good chunk of the reviews are pretty short, and even the longest ones aren’t much longer than a standard game review. that lack of length is a combination of my lack of writing skill, and the lack of interesting and unique thoughts i have about whatever i’m writing about.

all of the reviews are also cross-posted to backloggd! i’m pretty active on there in general.

to be fully honest, i’m not all that active on most social media sites. i use twitter as a way to find fun art, and my youtube channel isn’t exactly active, so following these is kind of just a formality. not saying you shouldn’t, but don’t expect too much from them.

i also dip my toes into other mediums, occasionally. i listen to a LOT of music, specifically.
